Khallikote University signed MOU with the Shu-Te University, Taiwan

Prof. Ganeshi Lal

H.E. Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the Governor, Odisha is the Chancellor of Khallikote University, Berhampur. Prof. Lal was born at Sirsa, Haryana on 1st March, 1942 and holds a degree in English Honours. He further went on to gain a post-graduate degree in Mathematics. He was brilliant in studies and stood First Class First in FA, BA and MA Class and was a Gold Medallist. After completing his education, he joined academic profession and served as Professor in different Government Colleges in Haryana between 1964 and 1991. Since 1962 Prof. Lal is actively associated with Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and held posts in Hisar, Rohtak Wing of RSS. On his political assignments Prof. Lal was associated with grassroots organisations of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is a former State President of Haryana BJP, a former Chairman of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Haryana and former National President of BJP Disciplinary Committee.


Prof. (Dr.) Amarendra N. Misra

Professor Dr. Amarendra Narayan Misra became the first regular Vice-Chancellor of the Khallikote Cluster University of Berhampur and joined on 14 July 2017. As Vice-Chancellor of the University, he will use his experience and expertise to improve access to the five colleges in the Khallikote Cluster University for students of all economic backgrounds and advocated for enabling quality teaching and research in interdisciplinary, job oriented and industry linked disciplines. Immediately after joining the University initiated dialogues with various stake holder for promoting collaboration across academic disciplines and administrative units accepting the limitations and challenges of infrastructure, resource crunch and financial challenges.

Welcome to Khallikote University

Khallikote University (KU) was established as the first cluster University in the state of Odisha on 30th May 2015 under Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in exercise of powers conferred by subsections (1) and (2) of the Odisha University Act, 1989 (Odisha Act 5, 1989). With an aim to impart quality education in several interdisciplinary professional courses the University will fulfil long cherished dream of the people of southern Odisha. The University has five constituent colleges – (i) Khallikote (Autonomous) College, Berhampur, (ii) Sashi Bhusan Rath Government Women’s College, Berhampur, (iii) Government Science College, Chhatrapur, (iv) Binayak Acharya College, Berhampur and (iv) Gopalpur College, Gopalpur. At present, the University is functioning at Khallikote college campus (The lead constituent college under its jurisdiction).
